Summary of Position:

The Warehouse & Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all shipping, logistics, warehouse, and merchandise operations at Carhartt Family Wines. This role ensures the efficient fulfillment of all orders, manages inventory, and maintains the organization of the warehouse and merchandise stock. The ideal candidate will have strong operational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position works under the direction of ownership and the Director of Operations while collaborating with upper management, including the Wine Club Manager, Marketing Manager, and Tasting Room Manager.

Skills Required:

Strong passion for wine and the wine industry with a drive to uphold and improve warehouse, shipping, and merchandise standards.

- Experience with winery POS software (preferably Commerce7).

- Experience with ShipCompliant.

- Experience with shipping and fulfillment software.

- Excellent organizational and logistical skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inventory and merchandise management.

- Ability to maintain a professional and solution-oriented attitude at all times.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to anticipate future challenges and respond appropriately.

- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities.

- Experience operating a pallet jack

- Fork lift certification a plus

- Ability to work in a team environment and uphold the values and mission of Carhartt Family Wines.

Fulfillment Duties:

The Hospitality & Warehouse Manager oversees and executes the day to day shipping, fulfillment, and tracking of all Carhartt Family Wines shipping orders.

- Manage all shipping and fulfillment tasks.

- Print shipping labels and pack orders.

- Oversee shipment tracking and ensure timely deliveries.

- Process, redirect, and rectify shipment returns.

- Schedule FedEx pick-ups.

- Coordinate and fulfill all wine club packaging runs.

- Provide customer support for shipment inquiries and ensure successful deliveries.

- Redirect packages to be held at FedEx pick-up locations when necessary.

- Contact customers to reship all returned-to-sender (RTS) orders.

- Update customer addresses and reroute packages as needed.

- Manage inventory of all shipping and warehouse supplies.

- Conduct biweekly inventory of shipping supplies.

- File FedEx claims for broken or damaged packages.

- Upload month-end tracking numbers into ShipCompliant.

- Assist with shipping compliance management.

- Register brands and labels for required states.

- Assist with state shipping license renewal.

Warehouse and Inventory:

Oversee all warehouse and inventory operations.

- Oversee all warehouse and inventory operations.

- Conduct weekly and monthly wine inventory audits.

- Maintain accurate inventory counts across all storage locations.

- Adjust and rectify inventory in Commerce7.

- Ensure proper organization and accessibility of bottled wine.

- Maintain and update warehouse maps for efficiency.

- Plan and execute warehouse organization for bottling runs.

- Direct placement of wines on bottling days.

- Hand-label wines as necessary.

- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space.

Merchandise:

Oversee all merchandise intake, organization, and inventory operations.

- Organize and maintain all merchandise inventory.

- Conduct regular merchandise inventory counts (weekly/monthly).

- Ensure the tasting room is stocked with all available merchandise.

- Collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to maintain accurate stock levels.

- Track merchandise sales and coordinate reorders as needed.

- Assist in the intake and storage of new merchandise items.

- Keep merchandise storage areas clean and well-organized.

Event Duties:

Work closely with the Events Manager to help execute all wine club events.

- Assist in the set up, execution, and sales of all events

Education:

Associates Degree (required)

Continuing or formal Wine Education (appreciated but not required) (WSET, CMS)

Physical Requirements:

Ability and desire to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours, lift and carry a case of wine (40 lbs).

At least 21 years of age

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to travel as required by the job components described above.
